PPIS AID & INSIM

PPIS AID had made a community service project in collaboration with InSIM. Held for 2 days and 1 night, 18-19 February 2017, this project was meant to share what we, Indonesian students in Singapore, have to the underprivileged children in Pulau Pecung, Belakang Padang, Batam, Kepulauan Riau. Our team was divided in groups and taught different ages of children, starting from primary, junior high, to senior high school. We taught them math, english, discipline, as well as played games such as dodgeball and benteng-bentengan with them.

As we lived in the civilians houses, we learnt to step out of our comfort zone and live the life that we have never tried before. We realized that all these times, we have only been living comfortably, not knowing that there are a lot of children out there who need our help in education.

However, through this community service, instead of giving care only, we also received from them. Their joy and laughter were our joy. We realized that happiness comes from small things. Sharing is caring; it reduces the burden and doubles the happiness.
